Keep the daylight when you want it. Reduce it when you don’t.
VELUX blinds help you control the light coming through your skylights and roof windows. Premier Skylights can help you choose a suitable blind for the room and check that it fits your VELUX model, whether you’re planning a new installation or adding blinds to existing windows.
Choose the light control your room needs
For a bedroom, you may want to darken the room for sleep. In a kitchen or living area, softening bright daylight may be enough.
The options below depend on your skylight or roof-window model and size. We’ll check compatibility before recommending a blind.
Solar Honeycomb Room Darkening Blinds
Reduce incoming light for sleep, daytime rest or watching a screen. The honeycomb fabric also provides an insulating layer at the window.
Solar-powered operation lets you adjust the blind using a wall-mounted keypad, useful for skylights above reach. The blind has its own solar power supply, so it does not rely on the skylight itself being solar-operated.
Available for compatible VELUX pitched-roof and flat-roof skylights.
Solar Translucent Light Filtering Blinds
Soften bright daylight and reduce glare while keeping the room light. A useful option for living areas and kitchens where you want light control without darkening the room as much.
Adjust the blind using a wall-mounted keypad.
Available for compatible VELUX pitched-roof skylights.
Manual Honeycomb Room Darkening Blinds
Darken a bedroom or loft with a blind you adjust by hand. The honeycomb fabric helps limit light and adds an insulating layer at the window.
Designed for compatible GGL and GPL roof windows installed within reach.
Adding blinds to an existing VELUX window?
The model, size and age of the window matter. A blind that fits one VELUX skylight won’t necessarily fit another, and current blinds may not suit older units.
Send us a photo of the skylight or roof window and its identification plate if safely accessible. If you can’t find or reach the plate, start with the photos you have.
We’ll check the suitable blind options and whether any extra fittings are needed before quoting.
Plan the blinds with the installation
If you’re choosing new skylights or roof windows, consider the blinds at the same time. It helps us match the light control and operation to how you’ll use the room.
You’ll speak with people who understand the installation. We’ll explain which blinds fit, how they operate and what’s included in the quote. For an existing installation, we’ll also consider access and any additional fitting requirements.
For builders and renovators: Include blinds in the window schedule, or send us the VELUX model codes, sizes and quantities so we can help identify the matching options.

How to find your VELUX Product ID
Your VELUX skylight or roof window has a product ID that helps identify the correct blind. Its location varies by model. Follow VELUX’s illustrated guide to see where to look, then take a clear photo of the full label or code if it’s safely accessible.
See this article for further instructions on how to find your VELUX Product ID.
Can’t safely reach it? Don’t climb onto the roof or overreach. Contact Premier Skylights and we’ll help with identification.
Find the right blind for your VELUX window
Tell us which room it’s for and whether you want to darken the space or soften the daylight. Include your suburb and any window details, photos or plans you have.
We’ll help you work out what fits and what’s needed to install it.
