VELUX Skylights Melbourne

Bring natural light into a dark room, add ventilation or plan a skylight layout for your renovation or new build.

Premier Skylights supplies and installs VELUX skylights across Greater Melbourne and surrounding regions. We help homeowners, renovators and builders choose suitable products and plan the installation, from the roof through to the finish inside.

Plan the Skylight around your room

Start with the space you want to improve. Where daylight enters, how it spreads and whether you need ventilation all help shape the right solution.

Position

Bring light where you need it, such as a kitchen work area or the darker centre of a room.

Size and Layout

One skylight may suit a smaller space. Several can help distribute daylight across a larger room.

Ceiling and Light Shaft

The connection between the roof and ceiling affects how the skylight looks and how light reaches the room.

If you’re renovating or building, involve us before roof and ceiling details are finalised so the skylight layout can be considered alongside the rest of the design.

Replacing an existing skylight? Send photos of the skylight and the ceiling below. We’ll check the opening, roof and existing shaft before recommending what can be retained and what needs changing.

Choosing your Skylight

Fixed skylights provide daylight. Opening models add ventilation, with manual, electric or solar operation depending on the range.

Your roof pitch, roofing material and ceiling arrangement help determine which models are suitable. You don’t need to identify the right range yourself before contacting us.

For an attic or loft where the window will be within reach, also explore our VELUX Roof Windows.

Pitched Roof Skylights

Choose from fixed, manual, electric and solar models. We’ll check your roof pitch, roofing material and installation requirements before recommending the right fit.

FS Fixed Skylight

Bring natural light into the room without an opening mechanism. A straightforward option when daylight is the priority and ventilation is already handled elsewhere.

VS Manual Opening Skylight

Add daylight and fresh air with a manually operated skylight. A winder handle or control rod is selected separately to suit the installation height.

VSE Electric Opening Skylight

Open and close the skylight using a wall-mounted keypad. An included rain sensor closes it when rain is detected. This model requires a suitable power point in the roof space.

VSS Solar Opening Skylight

A solar panel charges a battery to operate the skylight, including after dark. Keypad control makes opening easy, and an included rain sensor closes it when rain is detected. No mains power connection is needed for the skylight motor.

Flat Roof Skylights

The flat-roof range includes fixed, manual and solar models. These skylights sit on a raised base with custom flashing to suit the roof. They may also suit replacement of an older dome skylight, subject to checking the existing opening and base.

FCM Fixed Skylight

A non-opening glass skylight for bringing daylight into the space below. It can be considered for a new installation or an older skylight replacement where ventilation is not required.

VCM Manual Opening Skylight

Bring in daylight and open the skylight for fresh air using a suitable winder handle or control rod, purchased separately.

VCS Solar Opening Skylight

Enjoy daylight and keypad-operated ventilation using a solar panel and rechargeable battery. An included rain sensor closes the skylight when rain is detected, and the motor does not require a mains power connection.

Not sure which range suits your roof?

Send us photos or plans and we’ll help you narrow down the options.

Blinds and Controls

Compatible VELUX blinds allow you to control the incoming daylight. The options depend on the skylight model and size, so it’s worth considering blinds when choosing your skylight.

Solar and electric skylights can also work with optional VELUX controls for additional convenience and automation. We can help you decide whether these would be useful for your home.

Installation with Premier Skylights

A skylight installation involves more than fitting the unit into the roof. Positioning, weatherproofing and the internal light shaft all contribute to the finished result.

You’ll speak directly with people involved in the installation. We’ll explain the recommended approach and set out the agreed scope, including light-shaft construction and internal finishing where required, so you know what is included and whether other trades are needed.

In existing homes, we protect the work area and surrounding surfaces, then clean up when the installation is complete.

For builders and trades: Send your plans, specified models, quantities and required timing. Let us know which parts of the installation you need us to undertake so we can agree on the scope.

Tell us about your skylight project

Whether you’re brightening one room, replacing an older skylight or planning a larger build, send us your suburb and a brief description of the work.

Photos are useful for existing homes. Plans and product schedules are useful for renovations and new builds. If you haven’t chosen a skylight yet, we can help.
